Boxing fans have selected the legendary Muhammad Ali as the greatest heavyweight over all time after beating off stiff competition. Ali, real name Cassius Clay, rose to fame with in 20th century as a cultural icon and is regarded as one of the greatest boxers ever. Furthermore, boxers fans on Ranker chose the “Greatest” to come in first place among a distinguished group of heavyweights. Rocky Marciano, the only heavyweight champion in record to have retired undefeated, is in second position behind Ali. Boxing star George Foreman came in at number five, followed by Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey, and Joe Louis. Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis were among the top 10 boxing legends.
