ATP roundup: Andrey Rublev claims title in Rotterdam

Andrey Rublev of Russia recorded his fourth ATP Tour singles title in seven months on Sunday with a 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory over Marton Fucsovics of Hungary in the final of the ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The fourth-seeded Rublev, who recently has won titles in Hamburg, St. Petersburg and Vienna, saved all four break points to win in one hour and 50 minutes.

Rublev, 23, has won 20 consecutive matches at the ATP 500 level. That equals the third-longest streak since 2009, behind Roger Federer (28 from 2014-16) and Andy Murray (21 from 2016-17).

Argentina Open

Top-seeded Diego Schwartzman breezed to a 6-1, 6-2 win over qualifier Francisco Cerundolo in Sunday’s all-Argentine final in Buenos Aires.

The championship was the first in his home country for Schwartzman, who recorded runner-up finishes at Buenos Aires in 2019 and Cordoba in 2020.

Schwartzman, who became the first Argentine champion in Buenos Aires since David Nalbandian, dispatched the 22-year-old Cerundolo in one hour and 21 minutes.
